When trying to maintain the bent right wrist through impact, many times the face becomes wide open. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to add some left arm and #3 when hitting through impact? Also when driving the right forearm down the plane I have throwaway (hitting it fat). Do you guys think of thrusting your forearm at the aft inside quad of ball or do you think of aiming your hands at aiming point?
I had this down and ball striking was amazing, now im doing something wrong and cant see what it is. I have searched the forum but havent found a direct answer. Any help is much appreciated..im going nuts trying to get that amazing feeling of nice compression back.

Kinda forget about the right wrist bend for a sec. . . . this could have something to do with the amount of shaft lean you're delivering to the ball. So get your club and lean the handle forward . . . generally that's gonna open the face . . . so that could be the deal. I had/have this issue. shaft lean is a good thing with the shorter irons because due to the loft they don't tilt the axis the ball spins on as much . . . so it'll spin closer to end over end like a free throw . . . but as the clubs get longer and the less loft you typically will have issues with major lean as far as hitting the ball up in the air. So basically you want to program in the appropriate amount of shaft lean for the shot you're trying to hit. That's why the right wrist bend isn't the imperative. You're gonna have different amounts of right wrist bend for different handle locations BUT the left wrist is the ABSOLUTE . . it will always be FLAT regardless of the degree of right wrist bend . . .
Another thing to consider . . . you probably should avoid thinking of HOLDING the right wrist or really holding anything . . . you'll note that homer said it was inert and unstressed. if you have a bunch of tension in your right wrist you may actually be opening the face due to muscle tension. So you may rather focus your attention on pressure point pressure rather than "keeping the right wrist bent" . . . if you got lag pressure via your physics/loading/accleration . . your right wrist will BE BENT due to you making the proper motion.
That could be it, trying to HOLD on to something is bad. I guess im not getting the lean I want and now im trying to find out why. I will try and post a video. I appreciate the reply.

Until a month ago, I was so worried about that BRW, that I simply blocked my way around a course to a low 80 something score. Like drinking warm beer (sorry OB and everyone else in the world).
But then, loosening the BRW and Swiveling was so fun! As Lynn says when Vertically Un-cocking your left wrist..."Your ball will act a whole lot differently!!"
